In July 2022, the NHS became the first health system in the world to embed net zero into legislation. It set two ambitious targets:
• For emissions it controls directly, to reach net zero by 2040 with an ambition to reach an 80% reduction by 2028 to 2032.
• For emissions it can influence, to reach net zero by 2045 with an ambition to reach an 80% reduction by 2036 to 2039.
There is also a roadmap for NHS suppliers to reach net zero by 2030.
You can read more here. We are committed to reaching net zero as quickly as we can. Our co-working space (Work.Life) is a B Corp-registered company and we are always looking at ways in which we can be more sustainable. Our
impact report provides more detail here.
We have also decided on three United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to focus on, that closely align with our values and vision, and where we feel we can make the biggest difference.
• good health & wellbeing
• quality education
• and climate action.
Thanks to our close working relationship with the NHS and our partnership with NHS Charities, as well as our training platform, Evolve Learning, and our ongoing sustainability journey, we know we can take tangible action on each of these.
